Maher Foundation was setup in 2007 to promote education within our community and to provide financial assistance to less privileged Maher students to pursue their academic ambitions post 12thstandard.
Foundation strongly believe that education is a key to improving personal lives. The knowledge students acquire and skills they develop empowers them to fully engage in wide variety of social activities. It brings hope and aspirations to not only the individual and their immediate family but to the wider community and nation as a whole.
We offer financial grants based on strict criteria set by the trustees to achieve our primary objective of promoting high levels of education within our community
Anita Devshibhai Odedra
Our roots stem from tragic passing of Anita, daughter of Devshibhai Odedra, Tanzania, at very young age of 27. It was her family wish that the estate left by Anita should be used in some meaningful way. With help from Jaimalbhai and rest of her family a fund was created to provide financial support to less privileged young Maher boys and girls who would not otherwise have the means to a higher education.
We offer our heartfelt gratitude to Anita’s family for this enormous goodwill gesture that has enabled the Maher Foundation to have been setup and as direct result we have so far supported over 150 young Maher students.
Please lend us a hand
Maher Foundation is a Registered Charity in England and Wales under the Charities Act 1993; Charity Number 1125220. All the costs associated with running a charity is borne by individuals and so every penny we receive goes directly to the students.
We are having to turn away students due to lack of funds so we desperately need your donations no matter how big or small. If you can help us in anyway PLEASE do get in touch with any one of the trustee or contact us here.
